Education quality and Women's Employment poor, says UN
Another critical report of Turkey was published on Wednesday. This time it was the United Nations’ annual Human Development Report. The report said Turkey is performing poorly in terms of education quality and the rate of women’s employment.
Antalya (Mediterranean), Bursa (Marmara region), Gaziantep, Malatya, Mardin (south-eastern Anatolia) and Samsun (Black Sea coast) are being added to the list of "women friendly cities" as part of the "United Nations Human Rights of Women and Girls Protection and Development Program" implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Kurdo Challi - Leyla Qasim was a Kurdish female political activist who
was promoting the awareness of the oppression of the Kurdish people at
the hands of occupying powers of Kurdistan. She is regarded as one of
the most respected women in the history of Kurdish people. Her poster is
displayed in a lot of Kurdish houses and the public places.
A recent report submitted by the Kurdish Human Rights Project (KHRP) denounces the human rights violations endured by the Kurdish population in Syria. In this article we highlight those suffered by Kurdish women, who are discriminated both as a result of their ethnicity and of their gender.
Speaking Kurdish at 8th March Meeting in Urfa on Monday, former DEP MP
Leyla Zana said: “Without the freedom of women, men cannot be free
alone. The language is the honor of Kurdish women because a folk can not
exist without its language. The President will become free and peace
will come”.
A large number of women wearing traditional clothes gathered at Urfakapi to attend the final meeting in Diyarbakir organized with the slogan "End to women massacre". While thousands coming from center Baglar, Yenisehir, Kayapinar and Sur, Çinar, Lice, Ergani, Kulp, Hazro and Bismil Districts gathered at Urfakapi, Diyarbakir Municipality buses gave free service for 8 March Women's Day.
