for being here.We, as a members of the Peace Group, would like to
explain the reasons of us being here to our people, Members of the Press
and through you, the general public as part of our duty and
responsibility. Within this respect, on behalf of the Peace Group, I
would like to give my respect and greetings, as well as welcome you all.
Members of the peace groups that arrived in Turkey on 19 October upon the call from Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan are reported to go back to Kurdistan Region in Iraq.Peace groups that came from both Qandil Mountain and Makhmur Refugee Camp are going back to Makhmur due to pressure and prosecution they are subjected by the Turkish government.
ANF 18.07.2010- The civil society organizations in Kurdistan came together in Diyarbakır
for an end to the increasing operations and for the peaceful solution
of the Kurdish issue. The meeting at Diyarbakır Sümerpark Reception Hall is participated by
400 non-governmental organization from Batman, Şırnak, Bitlis, Van, Muş,
Hakkâri, Siirt, Urfa, Mardin, Dersim, Elazığ, Bingöl and Malatya.
Representatives of the organizations will discuss proposals for the
solution of the Kurdish issue and publish a notice at the end of the
meeting.

Fifteen-year-old Berivan goes through a trauma in prison since she has been
held alone in a barrack for nine months. She has hurt herself
sometimes, said her families.Berivan Sayaca had been sentenced to
seven years and nine months in prison for simply throwing stones at
police during a meeting organized by Peace and Democracy Part (BDP) in
Batman.
ANF - Village guards in Sirnak province are refusing to take part in military operations of Turkish army against the Kurdish guerrillas. While 168 village guards quitted in the last 2 months 8 others quitted in Beytüşşebap district 3 days ago. The village guards stated that they were called to Beytüşşebap gendarmerie command on 12 July where they were insulted by the commander following their refusal to take part in an operation in Kato Mountain. The guards returned their weapons to the gendarmerie.
Öcalan: The government is preparing for a new operation

‘Prime Minister’s defending abuse of dead bodies is unheard of’
DIHA 16.07.2010- Selahattin Demirtas, co-chair of Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) asked
that have you ever seen a Prime Minister who defends abuse of dead
bodies referring PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s last speech. Erdogan said
that BDP is sending me the pictures of dead terrorists. Should I send
them the pictures of dead Turkish soldiers? BDP had recently sent the
pictures of abused corpses of HPG to PM to draw attention on the case.
