Academic platform for Kurdish people: Society and Doctrine
DIHA 05.06.2009 - A group of university students who came together in
order to conduct academic research on social, political, economic,
cultural and historical develpoment/evolution on the territory Kurdish
people live, published a periodical, namely Society and Doctrine, on
the basis of academic rules and scientific basis. The aim of study,
which works out in the form of platform, is to constitute basis of an
academy that will conduct research on Kurdish people.

Kurdistan Federal Region’s Culture Minister Felakettin Kakai. The People’s Union of Kurdistan (KCK)’s new decision to extend the cease
fire term is still on the agenda of related people and institutions.
The Kurdish Federal Region’s Culture Minister Felakettin Kakai
evaluated the decision as a positive step. Kakai said this step will
force Turkey to take action for peace.
DİHA 05.06.2009 – Military forwarding has been launched to Kato Mountain in Beytüşşebap (Elkê) -Şırnak besides ongoing operations in Şırnak. According to information obtain from local sources last night military forwarding including military vehicles and soldiers has been begun to Kato Mountain. On the other hand operations around Güçlükonak (Bas) county and Bestler Dereler area are continuing.
Intellectuals debate the opportunity of extending ceasefire
DİHA 04.06.2009 - Intellectuals debate the opportunity of extending
ceasefire, which is ended on 1st June, to 15th July by KCK. Tahir Elçi,
Ercan Kanar and Ragıp Zarakolu, who denoted that the one of the
opponents had performed certain conditions, expressed that other
respondents should appear and take concrete steps for solution as soon
as possible. Inactivation decision, started by KCK and extended until 15th July, is
responded positively by the intellectuals. They are all of one mind
about created opportunity should be used well.
DIHA 03.06.2009 -Reactions continue in Muş, Ergani a district of
Diyarbakır, Kurtalan a district of Siirt, and Patnos a district of Ağrı
to arrest 14 KESK members.The Confederation of Public Employee Trade Unions or KESK members and
DTP organizations keep on holding demonstrations to protest to arrest
14 KESK members. They organized all night watch actions, marches, press
release and sit-in acts in Muş, Ergani, Kurtalan, and Patnos to protest
recent arrests of 14 KESK members.
6 songs in 6 languages for aggrieved children of Anti-Terror Code
DIHA 03.06.2009 - Kardeş Türküler, a singer group, prepared 6 songs in 6 languages for aggrieved children of Anti-Terror Code of Turkish Constitution who were arrested to participate in demonstrations.The Justice Attempt for Children will held an activity in İstanbul Alkazar Movie Theatre to develop solidarity with arrested children for participating in the demonstrations in the cities such as Adana, Antalya, Batman, Bursa, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Hakkari, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Mardin, Mersin and Siirt.Kardeş Türküler will sing 6 songs in 6 languages to salute aggrieved children and speeches will be made during the activity.
BIANET 04.06.2009- Independent feminist Nilgün Yurdalan and member of the Socialist
Feminist Collective (SFK) Tugba Baykal attended a rally of women in
Diyarbakir on Sunday (31 May), organised by the Democratic Free Women's
Movement (DÖKH). They said, "The rally was the start of a long road towards the hope for
peace. The number and variety of supporters gave hope to women for a
solution to the Kurdish question."
MAZLUMDER; we are going to contribute to solve the Kurdish problem
DIHA 03.06.2009- Head of MAZLUMDER and AKP former deputy Ahmet Faruk Ünsal says that
they will contribute to solve the Kurdish problem since the problem is
all about human rights. Ahmet Faruk Ünsal, new president of MAZLUMDER, said they are going to
include the works on Kurdish problem; we want to establish environment
in Turkey in where every body can live together and peacefully. We will
act with solidarity as before. It is very good that Kurdish problem can
be spoken even we can hear some good words – sentences about solution
from the highest rank of the government. To struggle about Kurdish
problem is more ethic since the problems are pushing us, since there is
no way remained to get rid of the problem without peaceful way.
