HEWLÊR (DÎHA) -The brother of Zozan Muþîr Celal said that his sister was wounded during the bombing by Turkish airplanes in their village, near the Qendil Mountains. He stated that Turkish airplanes bombed a lot of village in the neighbourhood of the Qendil Mountains. Þexawan also stated that during the bombing of villages a woman was killed, many people were injured, a lot of animals were killed and places near these villages are burning down.
Kurdish Press Law A Threat to Freedom of Expression and Democracy
Kurdishaspect-The Kurdistan National Assembly, led by President Barzani’s Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), on Dec. 10 passed a Press Law that mandates fines for journalists and news organizations for “insulting officials.” Journalists could face jail time and or fines of up to 10 million Iraqi Dinars. Newspapers would be forced to pay as much as 20 million Iraqi Dinars.
