Deniz dies as a result of a batton injury
Kurdish info 06.03.2008 Deniz dies as a result of a baton injury in the incidents that took place after the 8th of March celebrations organised by the democratic free women's movement in Ercis in Van, Mehmet Deniz was struck on the head with a batton. He was taken to Van State Hospital where it was understood that Deniz had suffered internal bleeding. Mehmet Deniz was later pronounced dead in the early hours of the morning.

CPT publishes report on Turkey
CPT 06.03.2008 The Council of Europe's Committee for the prevention of torture and inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment (CPT) has published today the report on its visit to Turkey in May 2007, together with the response of the Turkish Government.
