The United States said Thursday it was closely watching Turkey's campaign against separatist Kurdish fighters based in Iraq and firmly backed its ally's refusal to negotiate with the rebels.
Kurdish info 06.03.2008 Deniz dies as a result of a baton injury in the incidents that took place after the 8th of March celebrations organised by the democratic free women's movement in Ercis in Van, Mehmet Deniz was struck on the head with a batton. He was taken to Van State Hospital where it was understood that Deniz had suffered internal bleeding. Mehmet Deniz was later pronounced dead in the early hours of the morning.
