DİYARBAKIR (DİHA) - Young singer Dilava coming to Diyarbakır from Sweden: I want children in Diyarbakır to have education. 15-year old Dilava Bingöl, who participated in 5. Children Festival organized by Sur Municipality, Diyarbakır, entertained children in Diyarbakır with hip-hop music. Dilava was very surprised when she saw the poverty in Diyarbakır and she said that it is very sad that children of Diyarbakır have to work instead of having education.

Amateur actors of Doğubayazıt


AĞRI (DİHA) - Some young people in Doğubayazıt, Ağrı formed an amateur drama group and spends the money they earn for the education of poor students. These young people, who wrote a play in memoriam of Ahmet Kaya, are making preparations for 4. Doğubayazıt Culture and Tourism Festival.

Prohibition to travel abroad for Selda Bağcan

İSTANBUL (DİHA) - Selda Bağcan was prohibited to travel abroad. Bağcan, who wanted to go to Canada to give a concert, was deprived of her passport said: "It is a shame to hinder a singer to give concert abroad just like it is a shame to hinder a professor to give lectures abroad".

Children invite to learn Kurdish

DİYARBAKIR (DİHA) - Nearly 70 children between 9 and 13 who have learned Kurdish literacy at Diyarbakır Private Kurdish Language Course are excited about how being able to know Kurdish exciting is. Inviting their coevals to attend Kurdish classes, the kids say we have known our language any how, you should learn Kurdish, too. 10-year teacher Kemal Taşkın stated that education in mother tongue raises children's self-confidence and, they attend classes with more punch.

Kurd-PEN's Chairman Botan: May Kurdish lands be approved as center

DİYARBAKIR (DİHA) -The Establishment of KURD-PEN Association in Diyarbakır in spite of Kurd-PEN, which carries on its activities in Germany as dependent upon International PEN, the world association of writers, has called forth numerous discussions. Chairman of Diyarbakır KURD-PEN Serkeft Botan called on Kurdish authors to return their own lands, stating "Kurdish geography has already broken into pieces; may the intelligentsia not cut it to pieces in their minds as well"

Ghobadi starts new movie

Kurdish director Bahman Ghobadi who has won prices for films "Blackboard" and "Time of Drunken Horses" starts a new movie.

Attending Nova Festival in Brugges, Belgium Kurdish movie director Bahman Ghobadi said he would start his new movie which is about Iraq. Telling "I will express a European journalist's days in South Kurdistan and Iraq" Ghobadi stated he worked with amateur actors in former movies but in new film he will work with a world famous American actress.

Ghobadi did not give any information about the name of female star and said: "It is a surprise"

He will start shooting in a short time, director will draw attention to cruelity of war and drams.
