Reporters Without Borders condemns a wave of violence in the past few days in Iraqi Kurdistan in which media premises have been torched and journalists have been targeted in several of this autonomous region’s cities. The press freedom organization is alarmed by the incidents and urges the authorities to investigate all of them.
In a press release on Wednesday, the Executive Council of KCK Presidency has underlined that the political genocide and police terror of AKP-Community regime against Kurdish politics spread to all sections of society.
Prosecutors Anders Risager and Jakob Buch-Jepsen have repeated their request to ban Kurdish satellite channel RojTV at the 28th hearing of the trial on Wednesday. They submitted what they claimed to be evidence of orders from PKK executives to Roj TV and photographs of RojTV employees taken in the PKK's bases in the Kandil Mountains in northern Iraq.

IMF says Turkey's economic growth to slow to 2 percent
IMF assessed Turkish economy underlining that it continued to grow strongly through the first half of 2011, reaping the benefits of institutional reforms and revamped policy frameworks implemented in the previous decade. However, growth became increasingly fueled by domestic demand and imports. This was supported by strong credit growth, reflecting an appreciated currency combined with low interest rates and a surge in short-term capital inflows. The current account deficit widened sharply to near 10 percent of GDP. Inflation is rising quickly, reflecting pass-through from a large nominal depreciation since late 2010, numerous tax and regulated-price increases, and underpinned by tight domestic supply conditions, and is forecast to reach 9,5 percent at end 2011, well above the point target of 5,5 percent.
In an interview to Tîroj magazine, BDP Mersin MP Ertuğrul Kürkçü made evaluations in respect to the Kurdish problem. Kürkçü underlined that the AKP didn’t have a military victory to gain against the PKK and added; “A great majority of the PKK, BDP and DTK leadership is made up of the generation of socialist, revolutionist, workers’ and democratic movements in Turkey. However, the new Kurdish generation’s struggle links with Turks struggle isn’t as deep as that of former generation. We should therefore get a move on.”
While the court cases of genocides, slaughters and human rights abuses went on for more than 15 years without any results, people charged with “having connections with a terrorist organization” are detained and sent to prison within the same day.
