makale Why Turkey Withdrew From Kurdistan?
To find out why Turkey pull its military forces out from south Kurdistan without any achievement there has been a several factors involve on this issue and I want briefly discuss the important dynamic of these forces.
During the nine days of war, angry people in north Kurdistan has seen the Turkish military force action not only as simply as an operation but a war for invasion of south Kurdistan. peaceful demonstration of people against the war took place in most of the large cities in north Kurdistan, in the city of Dyarbakr more than ten thousands demonstrator from deferent level of society including clergies demand for a peaceful and democratic solution for the Kurdish issue which was suppressed by Turkish government, the days toward the 25th and 26th of February after five days of war the extension of these demonstration spread to other cities in Turkey like Istanbul especially follow by a call from PKK for more demonstration. Now the great concern for the authority in Turkey was losing stability inside their territory rather than focusing on the border or outside. By other mean the domestic pressure on Turkish government especially in Kurdistan was a key determine in shifting the policy of invasion.

Despite denial of any foreign intervention in decision making about the withdrawal of Turkish army from South Kurdistan bay Turkish authority, however many commentators believes that Turkish withdrawal from Kurdistan was as a result of international pressure particularly from the America and many other western countries including UK in which they worry about the stability of south Kurdistan the only stable rejoin in Iraq. In the other side there was Turkish government agenda about this issue which is claimed that operation was accomplished.

In fact the outcome of Turkish military mission was deferent from what they expected to gain during the nine days of war in Kurdistan, the consequences of this war for Turkish authority was a major disappointment it was first because they failed to uproot the PKK as they thought before the war and second they understood one more time the affiliation between the PKK and majority of Kurdish people not only in South Kurdistan but in the other part of Kurdistan. Turkish military chief, Buyukanitit, the day before pulling its military out from the Kurdistan on Thursday 28th February in a statement announced that" our troops will not withdraw until our mission accomplished'' it is obvious that the Turkish military achieved noting from 28th to 29th of February the time when Turkish withdrew from Kurdistan. The important factor that forced Turkish withdrawal form southern Kurdistan was not only the international pressure but there were a series of elements that put the Turkey in hesitation about victory both among the politician and military figure in Turkey after a heavy casualties they suffered during the 9 days of war against Kurdish freedom fighter. Remaining in the South Kurdistan for Turkish military was mean more fatality.

Fear of loosing credibility as a "powerful military'' in the region in case of more downfall in South Kurdistan was another factor in immediate withdraw of Turkish military from the South Kurdistan. for traditional military figure in Turkey which relay on "militarism" by having strong armed forces with the experience of a series of military coup in Turkey in 1960, 1971, 1980 and finally in 1997, defeat was a matter of embarrassing. The Turkish military by this move wanted to achieve three main goals; ones to eliminate the PKK in Kandil which failed to do so, other to influence and control the KRG. And in the other side to prevent southen Kurdish from persuading referendum in kerkuke which is a very sensitive issue for Turkey. Misconception of Turkish government regarding the situation was as a result of military egotistical behavior and wrong perception about whole situation in the region.
